Weekly Report and Update

Welcome to my final report and wrap up of the year.

And quite a year it has been too! There’s still work to be done for a number of you to secure properties in the forthcoming weeks, so definitely not a quiet end to year for me.

Friday was a hectic one, with four properties going up for Auction.

First up was 5 Percy Lane in Meadowstone – an ideal brand new holiday pad that is walking distance to town. With two bidders going for it, it sold for $1,375,000.

Next up was an entry level property with plenty of space in Luggate at 11C Atkins Road. This sold for $750,000.

Third up was 189 Plantation Road; a real opportunity here, this sold for $1,015,000.

The final property was 7 Hyland Street, tucked away in a very quiet cul-de-sac. This property was passed in at and will be priced later this afternoon.

Anyone thinking that things were quieting down over Christmas period – please think again! We viewed six properties on Thursday with plenty of new stock coming onto the market.

First up is a brand new four bedroom being built in Peninsula Bay, at 82 Infinity Drive – some great design elements for this family home.

Next up is a elevated section on 12 Kereru Crescent, some great westerly mountain views being achieved here, close to the schools this section is priced well at $540,000.

We then headed to Albert Town for a brand new 4 bed build in 12 Hebbard Court, with the new restaurant, bar, patisserie and Four Square less than 100m away this is an ideal entry level new build.

Lake Hawea was next, with a great 1000sqm section in Sam John Place, lots to like about the Easterly facing section with stunning mountain views, launches online next week.

Next was a family home and commercial garaging/workshop option on 39 Newcastle Road, plenty to offer someone who wants to have their own workshop or to tinker with their toys! All on 4,000sqm.

The final property was a beautifully elevated section in Queensberry at Lot 2 240 Pukekowhai Road, stunning easterly views over the Clutha River, a stunning build platform for this one.

A number of you have asked how has it all gone for us since the move down to Wanaka last year so I have added a quick update for you below…

Firstly a thank you for your support of my work in the last 16 months, I have now sold 32 properties here in Wanaka which is something I’m incredibly proud of. I have somewhat flown under the radar to date as I wanted to build credibility and my profile properly, and so although it goes against my character, I will have some additional branding material reaching the market early next year so keep an eye and an ear out.

Our two kids, Millie and Carter, are now 6 and 4 and are flourishing down here. It is such a great place to bring up kids – it does at times feel like NZ in the 1980’s! I’ve  joined the Board Of Trustees at Wanaka Primary School as we will have a close relationship with the school for the next 8 years, so I’m now knee deep in primary education for the wider community too!

My wife (Portia) and I settled on our section at The Heights yesterday and the builders will turn soil in early January to begin the build of our new family home.  We are really excited to get this underway as we’ve been planning this for a few years now.  There’s something magic about watching your ideas come to life. I will be adding photos to my blog as this progresses as many of you have asked who we are using, what materials we’ve gone with, what our interior fit out will be etc so any further questions on building down here please ask away.

I really do hope my weekly ramblings have been of use – I know a number of you are as far away as Australia, Hong Kong, Japan and a few of you in the UK that do read this so I’m hoping you find it relevant and that it provides an up to date eye on the market here for you.
