Welcome to this weeks property report. Snow has arrived! 30cm up at Cardrona yesterday afternoon and we’re definitely feeling the cooler mornings in our household.
I have just spent the last 24 hours taking three groups of buyers around a number of different properties, all wanting to lock in a piece of Wanaka before it grows further. A lot of discussions were had about the potential and probable expansion and use of the Wanaka Airport by Queenstown Airport, who are the current owners.
What this could bring to the town is anyone’s guess, but expansion and growth is expected. Locking in lake vi ews or property close to town now would be wise!
The auctions have just finished and the results were great:
First up was a wee gem in Hawea at 25 Lakeview Terrace
, 6 bidders all having a crack at this one, so much room to expand on a really sunny spot so close to the lake, this sold under the hammer for $660,000.
Next up was a great family home under Mt Iron,
right next to a large reserve the kids will enjoy one of the biggest back yards to play in! This did get very close but not quite getting to reserve…. we do not stop working post Auction, within three hours we had two conditional offers, with one been accepted selling for $885,000.
Back to Hawea for the next Auction at 14 Paradise Place
, a very quiet and private family home; this sold under the hammer for $727,000.
Next week is going to be busy…. Easter, Warbirds Over Wanaka and open homes!
If you are heading down this way, please get in touch if you see anything you like.
Have a great weekend
