Weekly Report 29/3/20

Welcome to this week’s property update. Firstly, it is so reassuring to see the vast majority of New Zealanders self isolating as the country battles to curb the Coronavirus.

With friends and family in both Australia and America, I look from a distance at two very different approaches to affecting change and am grateful to live in a country which is taking this pandemic seriously. New Zealanders are stopping, taking a deep breath and acclimatising to what is going to be the new norm for the next few weeks. 

Although we are only in week one of official lockdown, we are seeing buyer confidence returning as we all try to navigate our lives for the foreseeable future.

Understanding what services are still available and who can work remotely has been very beneficial. I have been in regular contact with a number of specialist services already this week, from banking, accounting, solicitors, planners and surveyors. If you do have any questions pertaining to properties we have listed, please let me know if I can help. 

Buyer behaviour has lifted as well, with property transactions still taking place. Yesterday we saw 41 Forest Heights confirm their sale (at $2.6M), 90 Parry Crescent has an accepted offer, and I received a backup offer on a large section. I have also had two mortgage brokers request documents for houses I have listed which is evidence that people are still looking for property. 

I have just quietly listed a very well built, four bedroom home that looks right across a wide reserve and straight up the valley to Treble Cone, Black Peak and Mount Aspiring. This is a Turnkey Build, with three bathrooms and a separate wing with two bedrooms ideal for guests or short term accommodation. Please let me know if this could appeal.

My property of the week, and one that has already had plenty of views online, is this four bedroom stunner at 39 West Meadows Drive. Great layout with modern touches throughout – the owners need a quick result on this one, so well worth viewing online. This will be very good buying on a quality build.
