Weekly Report

By on August 18, 2018
Welcome to this week’s property report.
While it has been a quieter week this week with no auctions set for today, next week is shaping up to be a big one with two very popular properties set for auction. See the links below for more information.
Of note this week was the Government’s passing of the ban on overseas buyers here in NZ (Australian residents are excluded from this). This has much more impact for the Queenstown market than here in Wanaka, but it will be interesting to watch if there is any flow on affect here in town. It’s interesting to note that less than 1% of our sales here in Wanaka are to offshore buyers.
Cardrona Ski resort continues to excite snow bunnies this year, with the announcement yesterday of a 5th chairlift going in at the bottom of Captains Cafe for the 2019 season. See here for more information on the Pringles Quad addition. The investment going into this resort is incredibly exciting and it is set to become a world class full year resort in the not too distant future.
There are rumours floating around town that Air New Zealand may resume direct Auckland – Wanaka fights in the near future too. Nothing official has been confirmed at this stage, but if the rumours are true, then this is more great news for us.
I have a new listing this week, suitability titled Eagles Nest – a stunning spot perched on the Ridgeline with cracking views of the lake and mountains, do check it out. (Featured image).
Any questions on the market or if you’re looking for something that you haven’t quite found just yet, please get in touch.
Hopefully my house will resume to some form of normality over the weekend as my sister’s troop depart for Ohau on Sunday – the kids have had a great time, but I’m exhausted!
Enjoy your weekend.
