Weekly Property Update

By on January 19, 2018

Welcome to the first post of 2018, we have had a cracking summer in Wanaka – the rain has somewhat sidestepped us thus far!  We have spent almost every afternoon at the Peninsula Bay pool or down at the lake to cool off.

The end of 2017 finished on a high for me, selling a large family home on Matai Road  and selling a stunning section on Lagoon Avenue in Albert Town for one very happy vendor.

There have been plenty of people in and around Wanaka over the break, with a number of you looking for your own piece of paradise. 2018 is well underway and I am working closely with a large buyer group who are looking to secure either a holiday house or their new home.

Please keep me updated with your buying briefs as see new homes are coming onto the market weekly.

New listings are amongst us and we have a great selection for you to start the year off.

  • We have a quiet listing for an entry level home in Aeolus Place, which would be a great rental or project to add your own touches to. If you are interested, let me know and I can arrange a private viewing.

  • A classic holiday crib/bach at 22 Bills Way.  Plenty of family fun to be had with no fuss at this home – the perfect lock up and leave for your summer and winter holidays.

  • 66 Lagoon Avenue  is an established and private home for those looking to secure a property in ‘Old Albert Town’. Possibly a good rental earner for you to consider.

  • If a slower pace of life is on the cards, then this very tidy, single level living home at 24 Matai Road road will be ideally suited. Alternatively a great rental property.

  • A rare beauty over looking Lake Hawea, is 179 Lakeview Terrace  A cute wee cottage which will give its new owners a place to unwind and plan a potential stunning new build. This boasts amazing lake views – I highly recommend a viewing on this one. (Featured photo)

  • A selection of family homes in Meadowstone area this week, the first being a five bedroom home on 16 Hyland Street,  boasting an array of extras.

  • If walking distance to town and 4 large bedrooms is on the agenda then 22 Meadowstone Drive could be perfect with sneaky views of the lake too!  Ultra private and beautifully presented, this will be good buying.

  • If the Meadowstone area is what you are after, and a very large private family home is required, then 20 Little Oak Common will suit. With one of the longest kitchen benches I have seen, this beauty is well worth checking out.

  • One of my listings is 10 Avalanche Place , the owners are building and are committed elsewhere. Fantastic family living and built by award winning builder Mike Plimmer. Now priced at $1,295,000 to meet the market.

  • This is one to watch… a stunning new build on 22 Mount View Drive. My colleague commented this was the best house she has viewed in 14 years. The owner’s tastes and furniture are on point.  A very chic and stylish home.  Either a full time residence for a couple or an amazing holiday home, this will attract a lot of attention.

  • Our final property is a section new to the market, 23 Ridgecrest  section sits on the back row with stunning lake and mountain vistas. Located just off Beacon Point Road you can be assured you are buying into quality land surrounded by some of Wanaka’s most premium real estate.

If any of these properties are of interest, please do call or email through and I will be happy to give further insight and information for you to consider.

Next week I will have my first interview for the year, with town planner Jo Fyfe from JEA. Jo has previously worked with some of my clients and has been a godsend as vendors and buyers navigate their way through council plans and land covenants.

I always look forward to your feedback, especially if there is any topic you would like me to explore.

All the best for a great 2018 I look forward to helping you find something special in Wanaka,

Cheers and regards
