Welcome to this week’s property report.  Well given that our auction room yesterday was at bursting point, you would never have thought that the General Election was being held today! Demand for a full range of homes in Wanaka was clearly evident.

Key results:

136 Lismore Street had significant interest throughout its marketing period (featured photo) – this sold under the hammer for $2,150,000 with fierce bidding. If you have a property with lake views and are considering selling, I have a number of cash buyers ready to go with budgets well in excess of $1.5M. 1/22 Matai Road  still one of my favoured rental options for short term rentals upstairs and downstairs, this sold for $830,000.

37 Dungarvon, returning $52K a year from short term rental was great buying for one happy person paying $1,260,000.

16 Bell Street Hawea provided a perfect holiday hang out this sold for $615,500.

26 Kings Drive was an established family home very close to school and walking distance to town sold for $950,000 with two bidders going head to head.

5B Hogan Lane  was passed in at $705,000. Open to conditional offers now.


A quick summary of property that we viewed this week on our property caravan.

  1. A stunning 4000sqm section with lake views, these do not come along often.  Exclusive end of town, quiet listing so please get in touch.
  2. Large established flat land off Cardrona Valley road, good buying with ample space and great mountain views.
  3. Family home with 3 bedrooms under Mount Iron, very really tidy and going to auction shortly.
  4. Entry level cottage in Albert Town with a heap of garaging for storage. Could be perfect for a tradie and their tool or someone who loves the outdoors and has a lot of toys!
