Welcome to this week’s property report.  I was up in Auckland last week and it was interesting to see how their property market was faring. Feedback from agents was that stock levels were down and pricing in certain areas that has seen significant growth, were now somewhat correcting themselves.

This somewhat mirrors what we are seeing here in the Wanaka region, with stock levels at their lowest in ten years and perhaps a few pricing corrections. But here comes some opportunities for you all!

Over the last week, we have had a number of listings come online that are suited for the rental market – 15 Dale Street, 2 Ivy Lane, 45 Gunn Road and 50 Quinnat Street, and a few entry level properties out in Luggate – 31 Main Road and 69 Hopkins Street. (Click on bold text for properties).

We also have a few more substantial sized homes to update you on.

  • 34B Youghal Street is a perfect lock up and leave property, sporting surprising good lake views with a short walk to town.  It’s a perfect investor home for short term rental returns. One to keep an eye on. (Featured Image)
  • 1 Northburn Road – this property is a wee gem, with masses of space out side for kids or pets to roam in a fully fenced yard, the home is well laid out and very well built with great views up to Treble Cone.  
  • 78 Macpherson Street – another perfect lock up and leave holiday home boasting beautiful lake views, and can very easily can be used as a short term rental when not in use. I really like this one as a Wanaka holiday base.
  • 33 Minaret Ridge  boasts great lake views from a perfect deck to enjoy your sundowners. I see this as an ideal retirement home, giving you flexibility for AirBNB with a separate and self contained bedroom. Great outdoor living with this property too.
