Weekly Market Update
Welcome to this weeks property report. Quite a week with the new government plans for foreign buyers being tabled. One of my clients asked me what impact is this likely have on the Wanaka property market and in short it’s actually very little. We ran the numbers here in the office and less than 1% of our buyers at Ray White Wanaka are foreign buyers.
We are fortunate to live in a highly desirable part of NZ which has been built on with demand by retirees, semi retirees and in recent times families with parents who can work remotely. Why wouldn’t you want to live in this beautiful town?! We are still seeing strong demand by NZ buyers and imagine that we will continue to for some time. I have just left the auction room and there was some solid bidding for 78 Macpherson Street. This has just sold under the hammer for $1,000,000. We have also just sold under the hammer 34B Youghal Street for $1,075,000
This week we viewed a range selection of sections and homes that will be coming onto the market in the next week. Below is a wee teaser for you.
The quintessential kiwi Crib (or Bach for you North Islanders!). Plenty of potential for this wee ripper on Plantation Road, it’s well worth checking out.
If land on the river has been a goal then this next section could be for you. It holds a consent for a ten bed lodge providing plenty of options on Hikuwai Road, Albert Town.
This next section is my pick of the crop this week – 1200 sqm over looking a beautiful lagoon drenched in morning sun. This section on 86 Lagoon Ave Albert Town will be great buying, especially being so close to Wanaka’s town. (Featured image)
Our final property this week is a perfect wee family home nestled in Albert Town. This Sherwin Avenue property allows you to walk in and crack on with Central Otago life.
Please call or email me if any of these properties sound interesting.
I will be at The Heights subdivision this morning (SAT) 10am-12pm. There are some great sections so close to town available, so please call me and I can FaceTime or Skype you whilst on site if you are interested. My wife and I have purchased there ourselves so I’m happy to share our experience and the process involved too.
I always look forward to your feedback, so if there’s something that you’re after, please get in touch. Have a great weekend I look forward to speaking to you soon.
