My wife often jokes that our home could work as an art gallery. Whilst it’s not for everyone, the premise behind our white on white interior look is somewhat calming in the mad, driven, hectic and crazy fun-filled lives we lead with our young kids.
Wth the interior painting almost finished, the inside is now starting to take shape and it’s beginning to look like a home. Below is a selection of interior and exterior shots from this morning.
Our painter reminded me this morning that the afternoon sun will add so much warmth to the house. Heating and utilising the radiant heat from the sun in Wanaka are two critical points which I often remind buyers of when buying or planning a new build down here.
Paul Smith Painters have undertaken the work care of our builder and in our experience they have been great, approachable and happy to discuss the merits of different options. We’re adding some colour to the kids bedrooms and they’ve given us excellent advice about warmth and choosing the rights shades to ensure that the rooms feel fun, welcoming and still fit with the rest of the house.
Next week the wooden floors will go down and the stormwater tank will arrive.
